We can accommodate most dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian or gluten free. Just let us know when you fill out the booking form.
The 60nm Long Passage Mile Builders are the perfect way for sailors to gain experience and miles in longer passages, especially for those wishing to undertake their RYA Yachtmaster exam.
Running over 3, 5 or 7 days (with varying prices depending on duration) the 60nm Long Passage Mile Builders will give you longer more involved passages and a more intense sailing experience than just hopping from marina to marina.
A great way to build some extra experience before undertaking that next course.
On some events we will be using Spinnakers to expand knowledge and experience of the crew. This is subject to weather, crew and other conditions.
You’ll get to visit marinas and ports a little further afield than the Solent, like Portland or Weymouth, Cherbourg or the Channel Islands. It’ll involve more intense and longer days sailing.
During the mile builders with Spinnakers we will be using and training for the use of a spinnaker by the crew.
Along with some cracking sailing, you’ll get to visit places you didn’t visit on your RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper course. The passages are longer and it’ll involve more quality sea-time, but it’s such a rewarding 3, 5 or 7 days of sailing.
Courses run in a choice of three formats:
Starts from our Gosport marina base and visits various ports and marinas further afield.
What better a way to celebrate that new RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper qualification than with spending 3, 5 or 7 days undertaking some nice long passages, and really getting out there?
A great way to build extra mileage and enjoy some longer passages to locations further afield than the Solent, guided by one of our experienced and professional RYA qualified instructors. We would advise everyone bringing sea sickness medication as these sails are long legs.
With so many locations to chose from (weather dependant of course) you might go and see Cherbourg, the gorgeous Channel Islands or maybe pop down to the west country.
Wherever you visit, you’ll experience what it’s like to undertake some longer passages of 60nm or more, which may involve overnight sailing, some early starts, but most of all, some exciting and fun sailing!
